The Top 3 things to help Create a Happy Home, and a Fun and Easy Relaxation Technique

Updated: Sep 3, 2020

By Anita Ness, Founder of EMBRACE Calmer Kids

I wanted to share with you the top 3 themes that came up in the information sessions I attended over the past few weeks. The seminars were all related to anxiety challenges and creating a happy home, and the very consistent and definite trio of themes were:

  • Self-care for parents – came out on top as essential and not negotiable (so get those self-care moments booked in to your calendar each week)

  • Building solid Connections with your child – so when they want to share their feelings or ask for your help, the trust and open communication is there (even if this means learning a new game on the iPad with them)

  • Taking a moment to Breathe before reacting – this is important for both the child and the parent (hard to do some days, but great role modelling when we can. Stop, Leave, Breathe)

One of my favourite parts of the training was learning about 5 finger breathing. So, I created a visual poster for you, that I hope you love as much as I do. Download or print it for FREE here.

Give the 5 Finger Breathing a go yourself, the sensation of the pointer finger tracing your other hand is surprisingly comforting. #AnitaNess @EMBRACEKidCoaching.com.au
